Customizing the PCGamerBike

When playing driving and racing games, your pedal motion can be proportional to your speed. In other words, the faster you pedal the faster your vehicle goes in the game.

Furthermore, you can customize the bike to your pedaling ability. For instance, let's say that you just had knee surgery and you can't pedal very fast. You can customize the bike so that you can pedal slow and still go fast.

Here's how it works

When in Pulsed Mode the power that your vehicle receives in the game depends upon your pedal speed. The more power that you give to your vehicle the faster it will go.

The Pulsed-Mode Settings dialog is shown below. You can drag any of the points in the graph up or down to change the power that your character receives for that pedal speed.

Click on the picture for a larger image.

For the graph settings in the above picture,

  • when you pedal 1 mile per hour or less, your character will receive no power and will not move.

  • When you pedal the bike 11 miles per hour (the red point) your character will receive 50% power.

  • If you pedal at least 24 miles per hour, your vehicle will receive full power.

You can change the power that your character receives at any pedal speed. Just click and drag the individual points up or down.

Pulsed Mode settings are saved with configuration files files.

There is no limit to the number of configurations that you can create and save to your computer. Configurations can be easily loaded in just a few mouse clicks.

Other uses for customization
  • Handicapping one player to another.

  • Setting the minimum speed that you have to pedal in order to move your character.

  • Setting the maximum speed that you can pedal in order to move your character.

Pulsed Mode

Pulsed mode only works with driving and racing games. You set the bike to pulsed mode simply by selecting the Pulsed Mode check box in the PCGamerBike Configurator dialog box.
